You will all be pleased to hear that the track between Tottenham Court Road - Holborn has been replaced. That 'horror' like screaming has now gone!

Was this one of the areas fitted with 'Pandrol Vanguard'?

Isn't that the bit near the disused British Museum station? Maybe the screaming was a ghost!

UPDATE: They also have replaced a part of the track between Mile End - Bethnal Green. I wonder what parts are next . . .

The noise between Wanstead and Leytonstone already sounds like it’s making a slow comeback, unless my hearing is getting a bit sensitive. It still wasn’t bad for the most part but there was a slight bit more noise yesterday. I’ll listen out again on Monday when I’m back at work.

This film was shown on Talking Pictures TV on the weekend! Some good shots of the underground (and London streets in general) from the early 70s. Including guards on the deep tube line - "mind the doors"!

It seems like they are redoing the track from Stratford - Liverpool Street. It's the track 'groaning' that's annoys me.

Isn't that the bit near the disused British Museum station? Maybe the screaming was a ghost! That is. There is a speed limit from where the points used to be. If you look on the video attached, there was a crossover which was removed. I think they were removed in 2016. No idea why though!

It's kind of a waste since Holborn could be used as a reversing point but maybe for safety reasons it was removed. Fairly reasonable

Museum siding was decommissioned on 21 May 2016 because the points were prone to failing and maintenance costs were huge.
