Whilst looking at the original cab ride videos of the Elizabeth Line, I thought that the shortest distance between stations would be between Farringdon and Liverpool Street. However, having been on the trains recently is making me think more it was Paddington to Bond Street or Bond Street to Tottenham Court Road. I haven't been east of Liverpool Street yet so I was wondering which is the shortest distance between any station.
Also is it on the core section and if not, what is the shortest between the core stations?

Don't know precise distances but I'd imagine Stratford to Maryland is among the shortest.

Don't know precise distances but I'd imagine Stratford to Maryland is among the shortest. Stratford Central Junction box (London end of present platform 10A) to Maryland Point Junction box (London end of present Maryland station) was 0.494 miles temp WW1, if that helps.

Thanks, QM - the slight disparity with the 100 year old figure for Stratford-Maryland no doubt being the 1940s eastward lurch of the platforms 6-7-8 under New Works.

South Ealing to Northfields. 0.39km You can throw a stone...
Ah, but Covent Garden to Leicester Square is 0.26 of course.

It should have been Moorgate - Lothbury.
I do not know how far apart (in terms of distance - yards / metres, etc) they would have been but here is a clue, during the journey one end of the train would have been in Lothbury and t'other end of the train would have been in Moorgate.
This would have given a whole new meaning to the question of being at two stations at the same time ... in days long before the Elizabeth line!
