State Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II, services

The following planned Timetable arrangements will operate on the Bank Holiday for the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, on Monday 19 September 2022. Normal weekday services will operate during the main traffic day. To provide additional capacity for late evening return traffic, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual across various sections of the Underground network.
Metropolitan line
During the traffic day, normal weekday services will operate. For late evening, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual from Aldgate through to Harrow-on-the-Hill and onwards to Uxbridge and Amersham. Services on the Watford & Chesham branches will close at normal weekday times. Chiltern Railways will operate a normal weekday service with no amendments.
Circle line Hammersmith & City line
During the traffic day, normal weekday services will operate. For late evening, Circle line services through Embankment will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual. In consequence, Circle line services across other sections, along with Hammersmith & City line services, will also operate later than normal to support stock positioning moves.
District line
During the traffic day, normal weekday services will operate. For late evening, District line services through Embankment will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual, running through to Upminster, Wimbledon, Richmond & Ealing Broadway. Services on the Olympia & Edgware Road branches will close at normal weekday times. Services from High Street Kensington will also be subject to change.
Bakerloo line
During the traffic day, normal weekday services will operate. For late evening, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual across the whole line.
Central line
During the traffic day, normal Monday-Thursday services will operate. For late evening, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual, from central London through to Ealing Broadway, Epping & Hainault (via Newbury Park). Services on the West Ruislip branch and the Hainault-Woodford loop corridor, will close at normal Monday-Thursday times.
Waterloo & City line
Normal weekday services will operate, with no changes to last train times.
Victoria line
During the traffic day, normal Monday-Thursday services will operate. For late evening, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual across the whole line.
Jubilee line
During the traffic day, normal Monday-Thursday services will operate. For late evening, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual across the whole line.
Northern line
During the traffic day, normal Monday-Thursday services will operate. For late evening, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than usual on both the Charing Cross and Bank branches, running through to Morden, High Barnet and Edgware. Services on the Battersea and Mill Hill East branches will close at normal Monday-Thursday times.
Piccadilly line
During the traffic day, normal Monday-Thursday services will operate. For late evening, services will generally be extended to run one hour later than normal from central London through to Cockfosters, Heathrow Airport Terminals 2&3 and Rayners Lane branches. Services at Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 & 5 stations and eastbound services on the Uxbridge branch, will close at normal Monday-Thursday times.

DLR and London Overground will operate normal weekday services.

Hopefully National Rail will also be running an hour later too, otherwise there will be a few people having to bed down in the stations! Not a hope in hell's chance of getting a hotel room. Or are they not going to quibble about staff taxis on this occasion?

I see things haven't gone well for the Crossrail services today on the Western Mainline; has the rest of the network fared well?

The Piccadilly line had a signal failure in the morning, but this didn't seem to cause too much trouble.
I passed through central London (Stratford-Liverpool Street-Paddington-High St Kensington) around 4-5pm and it was much quieter than I was expecting. Paddington station was geared and staffed up to deal with major crowds but everybody seemed to be getting the message to stay away.

Unfortunately this impacted the western end of the District, trains taking an hour to complete Acton Town westbound, Ealing, Acton Town eastbound, with 15min outside Ealing for a platform to become available.
The driver for the first Richmond departure at 05.31 arrived on the station at 05.10 to be met with 200+ passengers waiting on the platform!

Green Park, Hyde Park Corner, Lancaster Gate, Marble Arch, St. James’s Park, Westminster had various planned closures or restrictions to entry/exit throughout the day.

It wasn't a good day for trying to get into Central or West London from the west; with the Elizabeth Line out of action together with various road closures affecting the M4 (roadworks apparently), A4, A30 and A406 (Royal Funeral).

I was driving the first EB Picc through the tunnel - or more accurately my trainee was. I was amazed at the number of people on platforms - the train starts at Boston Manor at 0519, a lot busier at most stations then almost peak hour loadings at Barons Court and Earls Court.

By the time we left Gloucester Road EB we were pretty much full, everyone managed to pack on at South Kensington and Knightsbridge and then HPC closed. Lost pretty much everyone at Green Park then returned to the usual loadings for the first train after that. Certainly interesting, but a completely unique circumstance of course.

The trainstop failure on A829A Arsenal EB outer home just after 0700 absolutely crucified the Pic for the remainder of the day. Due to the events, trains were not cancelled in the numbers they would normally be during a similar failure by using Acton Sidings and Northfields. This was understandable given the need to try and move people through London in this circumstance but ultimately all it led to was extreme blocking back on the EB which reached almost all the way back to the airport. We were stuck outside Northfields EB for the best part of 20 minutes waiting to get into an already packed platform to detrain later on.

This failure combined with the ongoing failure since Friday on 21 crossover at Northfields meaning that all Heathrow trains must use the WB local from Acton - Northfields further exasperated the difficulties on the line. This failure has disrupted the service quite significantly over the past few days even on the days where nothing else of note has happened. This is an ongoing intermittent failure on the new unistar points, the same situation lasted for the best part of 2 weeks a couple of months ago, with occasional failures since - it seems this has been a longer failure now.
