If I was going from Wembley (assuming that you’re closest to Wembley Park rather than any of the other stations) to Heathrow I would probably take one of the following routes: Metropolitan line to Harrow on the Hill and X140 bus, or Metropolitan Line to Uxbridge and A10 bus. If you’re nearer to North Wembley or Wembley Central, take the Bakerloo line to Paddington and the Elizabeth line from there.
The easiest route is using the Bakerloo line from Wembley Central to Paddington (or Chiltern from Wembley Stadium to Marylebone and the tube onwards to Paddington) and then using the Elizabeth line to Heathrow. Alternatively, depending on where you live in Wembley, you can also walk to Alperton and catch the Piccadilly line, which will save a lot of money.
Avoid taking any buses during the peak as Wembley high road will be busy and there is often traffic between the high road and Wembley Park. I have not tried the express 140 service, but there can often also be traffic in the Northolt area, so it is not something I would personally do either.
I would ideally like to avoid using the buses to be honest.
I do not live in wemberly, coming from Ireland ( hence my slight lack of knowledge..worry (too strong a word) of all things tube, transport, london ). I will also be arriving with my two children, so again, keen to keep things simple.
Due to seeing a show, time is very tight getting from Wemberly to Heathrow - on a evening Saturday..so traffic may be high.
Hotel, closer to Tube station.
But, yes, it seems i will have to seek out the train station then in Wemberly. I am, liking the Alperton suggestion....a tube to their perhaps?
I have typed in various - and how long it takes.
I think 'BOLT' may be the easist option, and as mentioned previously we got on to Luton - a lot of drivers cancelled on us..but did get there in the end.
Hi roberto9 . If you want to avoid buses, I recommend the following routes, depending on your nearest station: ~Note: all £12.80 North Wembley/Wembley Central - Bakerloo southbound to Paddington, Elizabeth westbound to Heathrow Wembley Park (step free) - Metropolitan eastbound to Finchley Road, Jubilee eastbound to Bond Street, Elizabeth westbound to Heathrow Wembley Stadium - Chiltern rail eastbound to Marylebone, Bakerloo westbound to Paddington, Elizabeth westbound to Heathrow
If you want to avoid buses, be as cheap as possible, and don't care about time, I recommend: Wembley Park (£1.90) - Metropolitan eastbound to Rayners Lane (touch pink oyster pad), Piccadilly southbound to Acton Town, Piccadilly westbound to Heathrow.
You should be able to find the closest station to the hotel on their website or by asking once you get there. If you have a lot of luggage, I recommend using Wembley Park regardless of location as it will be completely step-free. Also, your train to Heathrow may not stop at the terminal you want. If so, get off at Terminal 2&3 and take a train to the terminal you need (and it won't cost an extra pence).
