<<Thread renamed and moved from Metropolitan line - goldenarrow>>
Hi all, a very specific question to those in the know, regarding today’s service. For context, I am taking a young man I look after out today; his choice of activity is always to ride around anywhere and everywhere an Oyster can take us, and, not unusually for an enthusiast, he also likes to travel on any unusual track. Are there fast Met trains all day today, reversing South-North off platform 2 at Harrow on the Hill? I believe so but would obviously appreciate confirmation. If this is the case, if anybody also has the (planned) timings for P2 departures, that would be great! There were definitely some fast trains when I travelled in the evening yesterday, and I believe the last time I asked about this during previous engineering works, it was 2tph from Amersham.
If we could add a P2 departure to the other plans of Willesden Junction platform 2, South Hampstead-Camden Road and Barking-Stratford on c2c, I’m sure he’d love it!
As always, many thanks in advance if anybody is able to help

Just checked on Trackernet replay and yes, trains from Amersham are reversing SB to NB in Harrow platform 2. Oops, beaten to it by a more complete answer!

Not quite as grandiose on the track map but Uxbridge branch trains are also reversing at Harrow, from platform 6 at xx:x6 every 10 mins.
LO Willesden (low level) - Queen’s Park - Stratford services are running half hourly. xx:12 and xx:42 past each hour from Willesden P2.
C2C workings through Stratford to Liverpool Street are half hourly shuttles from Basildon this weekend.

LO Willesden (low level) - Stratford services are running half hourly. xx:12 and xx:42 past each hour from Willesden P2. I assume that the Willesden Junction - Stratford trains are routed via Primrose Hill, if so then especially the passengers at stations south of Queens Park who normally only have the Euston - Watford trains will be pleased with the modest increase in train frequency. By way of contrast, North London Line passengers between Camden Road and Stratford will be 'most displeased' that their normally 'turn up & go' service has been reduced to a meagre half hourly. Especially in the afternoon when passenger numbers increase there is a risk of overcrowding. What would be really exciting is if the trains were routed via Hampstead Heath (instead of Primrose Hill). I've never done that route and am unsure if it is even still electrified.

Yes, the service I mentioned is running via Primrose Hill (post amended). There’s also another half hourly shuttle between Camden Road and Stratford to make a 15mins frequency on that part of the North London Line. The link I think you are referring to between the North London Line and Willesden (low level) is indeed electrified.

Many thanks all, I really appreciate the information. I have to admit... we didn’t make the P2 departure! We were on a schedule, managed Willesden Junction P2 arrival and departure, South Hampstead to Camden Road, and Stratford-Barking and back. We needed to be at Marylebone by a certain time as everything being half-hourly made coordinating tricky, and it just wasn’t quite possible, so we’re at Euston and about head home.
The fact we didn’t make that move doesn’t detract at all from my appreciation; thanks again all!
