I've just dug out my LDC Q23 resin bodied kit. It was put on back-burner many years ago as it "didn't look right" and there were no motor bogies available. I can now get a motor bogie to fit, so looked at the kit again and compared it to the old Skinley blueprint I got back in the late 1960s.
I find it's about 4mm too short over the length, and a lot of measuring and comparing with the Skinley print shows the sloon window behind the driving cab is where the problem lies, it's 3mm too narrow on the panel between the window and the sliding door! None of the other windows are what I'd call a consistent length and the bodyside moulding aren't right. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to get something better if anything is available or press on with this as a project and lengthen it where required. But then the underframe is rubbish and I've used shortened Triang Mk1 bogies to lok like the Q stock bogies. The 2 have different wheelbase as well, so the training end bogie pivot is in the wrong place.
Any suggestions before i waste a lot of time?

The LBC Q stock kits are all a little all over the place. Might be worth having a play with it. It is quite straight sided and the roof can be lengthened with reasonable ease.
I’d give it a go.
I have the Radley Models one which I haven’t checked to be honest but matches favourably with the other Q stock cars.

As part of creating my own Q stock train I am hoping to be able to buy a Radley Q23 car for myself ... at at all possible.
No hurry however as I'm busy in other directions at the moment.

Car has already cut in two and stuck together with epoxy resin. Pity I don't know how to post pictures on here. I've got a black Beetle motor bogie on the way for this project. Bogie sides are cut down Triang BR Mk1 bogies, the nearest I could find.

Pity I don't know how to post pictures on here. You can't post pictures directly on here. You have to post them somewhere else like Flickr (plenty of other hosting sites available). Once on there, you can post a link and simply copy the link with your post which will then go and find the picture on Flickr and display it within your posting. It may seem complicated at first as you have to create an account on Flickr (or other host) but once you've done it a few times it's like riding a bike.
Edit: forgot to add, there used to be a rule that images on here should not be greater than 800 pixels wide, so you'd need to edit your pic to that size before posting on eg Flickr and then linking to it. However I can't seem to find that rule now.

However I can't seem to find that rule now.(My bold) That rule was removed a little while back when the forum software was upgraded. Previously images were rendered truly so a wide image could create horizontal scrolling, however the current version of the forum software resizes images to match the device you are viewing on so the rule was removed.

Also, you can select an image size whilst being given the technical coding for inserting the image in to a message window here at DD
