I've just had an email from TfL saying the DLR will be striking on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 November 2023, with no services expected to run on those days and for there to be residual disruption on the morning of the 9th. No information is given about who is striking or why, but given the predicted impact I suspect the who is control room staff.

The strikes have been called by the RMT after staff rejected a 4.75% pay offer .

Interesting that a strike can shut down the whole of a fully driverless train system, whilst TFL always seem to manage to keep at least some of it running when there are strikes.
And, yes, I do understand why that is.
It's just that it should be an eye-opener to anyone who thinks that a driverless train system would be immune to strike action.

Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th November 2015 when there was a strike on DLR they had one train with a manager on board running a shuttle between Canning Town and Custom House as there was an exhibition at ExCel Centre
Now that Crossrail goes to Custom House I don't suppose they'd bother
Instead of "no strikes on driverless trains" we'll have "the only reason they have staff on board is because the unions threatened to go on strike"

The latest pay offer on the DLR is for a 5% increase and a one-off bonus of £1,000.

Tuesday I was spare, was on a train 15:38 - 18:12 and the Line Information Assistant at Wood Lane was telling us there was no service on the DLR. Wednesday on my first half (12:20 - 14:45) we were told "Woolwich Arsenal - Poplar and Beckton - Canning Town" but at some point after that it changed to no service. It's noisy in the tunnels so sometimes we can't hear the announcements
Maybe whoever was onboard (managers?) booked off at 15:00

They were certainly running until at least 14:00 on Tuesday, when I was last at Custom House, so what you suggest about booking off may be correct.
