As has become customary there will be a bonus crossword quiz for the Christmas social this year. As not everybody will be able to make it, you can also play online. Assuming the technology works correctly, the grid will become visible here at 8pm on Friday and the images at 2pm on Saturday. The thread will not be automatically marked as updated by the forum software though so you will need to check. Fill in the crossword grid below using these images of stations which appear on the current tube map as the clues. Notes: - Multiple-word station names may be represented by all words, initials (#) or only the first world (*)
- Punctuation (hyphens, apostrophes, etc) is ignored.
- If it appears, “Saint” is always “St”.
- If it appears, “and” is always “and” never “&”
- Bonus: re-arrange the highlighted letters to form the names of four stations.
- The only modifications made to the images are to hide text/signs that are too much of a giveaway such as station names and signal numbers. + next to the question number indicates a modified image.

Technology appears to be working, so the questions will appear in the first post in about 20 minutes.

I've been away, without access to a PC, trying to do the crossword on a phone was impossible.
Anyway, here are my guesses:
4D: Shadwell 5D: Bond Street 9D: HAI 18D: Northfields 11A: Island Gardens 21A: Edgware 26A: Loughton 31A: Putney Bridge
I'm sure that if I now went back and looked at the letters that now appear in other clues, I'd get a few more.
As ever, thanks to Chris for the Crossword, and to those who organised the DD meet.

Are all the 26 letters highlighted used only once to create the 4 stations names or is just use the letters to form 4 different station names within any of the 26 letters remaining?

Have sent a PM with final grid answers & the 4 stations to allow others to continue with the quiz. (Note; I didnt need the extra 'R' not highlighted in the Grid above) Good Luck All - keep hunting..
Looking forward to the daily quiz next year.
Thanks to the Quiz Team and contributors for making the quizzes up and the monitoring & marking throughout the year.
Have a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year.

6d picture looks like the next station along, half sharing its name with what seems to be the 6d answer.

24 down: Hackney Wick - westbound Freightliner servince in July 2021 (click for a larger version) 32 down: Rectory Road - northbound waiting shelter (click for a larger version) 23 across: Kilburn High Road - footbridge from platform (click for a larger version) 6d picture looks like the next station along, half sharing its name with what seems to be the 6d answer. Yes, I took photos of every station on that stretch of line one day earlier this year and then mislabelled the photo when sorting them later. Which is more understandable than when I discovered a photo clearly showing a roundel saying Stanmore labelled as Edgware!
