Is there a way to know via app or similar if a train will come into service at Parsons Green? As these are empty so means I will be more likely to get a seat when getting on there

The alternative way is to plan a journey on the from Putney Bridge to Fulham Broadway, making a note of the arrival times. Then plan a journey from Parsons Green to Fulham Broadway arriving at those times. Any trains on the second list not on the first start at Parsons Green. This is more hassle than just looking them up in the timetable, but works when temporary timetables are in operation (e.g. during engineer works) which are not always made public.

It's more complicated than that. Trains heading east can enter service at either Parsons Green or Fulham Broadway depending on what siding they start from at Parsons Green. A train starting from Nos. 21 or 22 sidings will only enter service at Fulham Broadway as the rear of the train is off the platform at PG.

The timetable shows you what is scheduled: linkI find this very difficult to read as a layman. Are you able to help me if any trains come into service between 8 and 9 AM during weekdays?

Page 15 shows the last scheduled train into service is 06.15 Thanks. One came into service around 830 on Tuesday so I thought I might have uncovered a secret way to always get a seat?

You just got lucky.
There are no timetabled reversers during the day at Parsons Green. It’s only used for recovering late running, or putting trains away that have no driver available. Neither can be predicted particularly far in advance.
