I wonder if Old Oak Common is going to be a white elephant like Stratford, Ebbsfleet, and Ashford and just be used by local trains.

It depends on whether the new Birmingham Relief Line can be accessed closer to the existing London termini. Or perhaps Birmingham will suddenly become an International destination?

This map on Wikipedia shows the two proposed LO stations: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hythe_Road_railway_station#/media/File:Willesden_Junction_map_with_Old_Oak_Common.pngI realise land is constrained, but wouldn't it have been better to have re-sited the proposed OOC stations that bit to the left, then they could have a direct interchange with Old Oak Common Lane (which could then be subsumed by OOC) and potentially even a link to North Acton for the Central line. Hythe Road could still then exist as a standalone station to serve new development.
