Noted today - an exposed and hanging down mucky but venerable platorm 1 hinged sign which is at the Baker Street end.
Looks as if was hidden by the recently removed false ceiling (you can see some of the old original brick arches now) - and the sign was presumably just hinged up and boxed in by the 1960's era new ceiling.
This would look good with a clean - can someone ensure it gets to the LT museum collection - or at least a good home - not a skip !

If my experience of contractors working on stations is anything to go by, it will disappear, and then re-appear on ebay in a month's time!

I thought contractors were more prone to breaking things or nicking biscuits than 'restoring' signs off site... I will have a butchers on Saturday!

They do that in addition to taking signs/ephemera. A lovely old wooden bench was taken during a refurb at my old station [all 6 were taken] and one turned up on ebay soon after, raised £200.

There is of course the enamel EUSTON SQUARE sign at the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway.

Saw it today at around 17.30. looked a bit grubby, but otherwise, it looks identical to the new-looking one on P2...
