Can anyone shed any light on what the two-storey brick building is at the Bayswater end of the Inner Rail platform at Paddington? It looks as though it's probably not been used for at least the past 20 years.

I know the building you mean.
I wonder if it could have been a signal cabin?

It used to be a cabin. Part of it is currently a store and part is a comms equipment room. The downstairs part (which was the signal equipment room) is fine, but the top floor has a leaky roof and is damp, grotty and largely disused.

Perhaps Tubeprune will happen across this thread and be able to enlighten us! Sorry, I can't, even though I worked there in 1964. But it was along time ago The link photo from A Good Cuppa shows the east end of Paddington (Met), not the west end.

I think this photograph shows the building in question (both this and the colour one AGC linked to are mine, if anyone wants higher resolution copies).
