On my way to work this morning I encountered an C stock at South Ealing on the eastbound local. Engineers seemed to be popping in and out, and there was line possession from just outside Northfields to just outside South Ealing. Any more info on what was going on!? Twas a C stock, not an A... My bad... Apologies to all and thanks to upinthesky for clearing it up.

AAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH. I wish I had known it was there!! A stock is no stranger to the test track at South Ealing. I have seen them down there before, this was also the same time i saw the said A stock at Ealing! I suspect it was down there for load testing or something, i shall have a look at the notices when im next at work.

That explains their absence on their normal stamping ground...

Don't panic. It wasn't an A stock, it was a C. I passed it three times yesterday, twice by South Ealing and again later at Ealing Common. All the seats were raised and I noticed that the sprinklers had been used on the local at South Ealing. It was carrying train number 761 IIRC. Coming down from Ruislip today I noticed that the same train (possibly) is now in Ealing Common depot.

If it's a C it's probably one of the ones with moody brakes (insert joke about all of them here ;D )

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

I saw it this morning in the eastbound District line platform at Acton Town, it had seats up and a wire coming out of the leading set of doors that was taped to the sole bar and disappeared underneath. I didn't get the west end numbers but the middle unit was 5703 and the east end unit was 5582. I asked some Metronet engineers if they new anything about it, and the nice lady who did the 'D' stock test voice told me that it was down there for brake testing. So there you have it!
