At about quater past 12 today I was lucky (?) enough to see this unusual sight at Leicester Square: i106.photobucket.com/albums/m242/MRO3219/stop.jpgUpon friendly interrogation of the platform staff, I found out it was being used as protection while pway repaired one of the trainstops between Leicester Square and Covent Garden. This isn't something I've seen before, I thought there'd have been a full trains length between the headwall of Leicester Square and the next signal, so you can squeeze more trains in? I was quite surprised to see the rear car still at the platform [que pax asking "why can't we get on that one?"].

I know in BVE there is a signal you stop at when not the whole train is out the station....

The advanced starter is at about the 5 car mark so more than likely that is the one getting repaired.

P/Way don't get involved with trainstops. Signals do though.

Theres been a lot happening at Covent Garden recently. On Wednesday evening, we were held at South Ken for about 20 minutes. All the driver said was they were inspecting the track!?
And again yesterday, there were minor delays due to an obstruction on the track!? Related by any chance?

Call me picky, but if the job that needs doing is inside the station limits... I was under the impression that the train stays in the platform as protection!
At least that was what I was told during my OPT!

I'm surprised that approach wasn't taken as giving that train a second right is obviously more difficult than if there was an OPO monitor there.
