Can any oldies remember the crossovers at Cov Gdn and Nth Eal? I wondered wether they were used to reverse trains E to W Or W to E.And the old Crossover at York Road as well.

North Ealing was a trailing cross-over, EB>WB, operated I think by a ground frame [as was/is Totteridge & Whetsone, and East Puney]. I think it was also taken out in the early 1970s though Tubeprune will know. It was thought at the time amongst various people that I knew on the operating side as a major error and short-sighted. Have they not been proven right?

I think Covent Garden was pulled in 1974... Picc people please feel free to correct me on this... It was - ISTR reading that it came out around the time that Earl's Court SCC was brought online. What a stupid move that was, too - IIRC calculating that it would cost a minimum of 3 million GBP to put it back...
