Last Friday morning, I was travelling NB into Queen's Park, and the train ran via the facing crossover directly into the SB platform, where the drivers stepped back, and the train was back on it's way SB within a minute! Is this a timetabled move, either at this time, or any other time of the day? Or does it only happen to catch up time when things are running behind - the sheds were devoid of trains being turned back, so I guess this was the case?

That is done if the train is running late/out of turn or if the Controller wants the train sent back south ASAP.

I don't think there are any booked moves over 21 crossover reverse. The normal method is to reverse via the NB platform but if the weather is particulary good (i.e the risk of 19s double slips failing is high) the preferred route will be via the SB platform.

Passengers going on beyond Q PK wouldn't have been very happy ! I used to remind passengers that they will have to cross over the bridge at qpk to the NB so if they have bags or are old to wait at kilburn pk for the next train

I used to remind passengers that they will have to cross over the bridge at qpk to the NB so if they have bags or are old to wait at kilburn pk for the next train Many drivers do this on the Central, when the train is reversing at Leytonstone, Woodford or North Acton. However, sometimes the driver only gets informed at the last minute (or not at all), by which time it's too late to inform the pax!
