With the recent centenary of this line, I thought that list members might appreciate an article penned by Charles Lee fifty years ago in the Railway Magazine. Part 1Part 2Both pdf files:- 2500 KB and 1500 KB respectively I loved the reported derision by the “establishment” of the contracted name of Bakerloo Railway instead of the the Baker Street & Waterloo Railway. Worthy of the ‘halfpenny papers’ but not befitting a railway company! “… English railway officers have more dignity than to act in this manner”.
