Thanks for posting that mate. What the video says is true in many respects, but in reality, the public the way it is, it is sometimes the opposite. For example, pax use the same 6 peds [just like the same 6 doors on non-ped platforms] Peds are usually good, they can fail horribly sometimes though.

Do a reset from the PEDC... TB, tell me if I am wrong, but can a JLE Platform CSA operate the PEDC panel?

The reasons behind PED's failing could be due to:

Fault with the train to PEDC communications
Over/understop

TB, anything else I should add? Oh, hang on... *digs out PED manual*

Station staff use the PEDC when investigating a problem with the PEDS, on the LCD screen it will say what ped and what the problem is. So for example, ped 8, comms failure. Action is then taken, eg isolate that doorway or whatever appropriate.
