Now, correct me if i'm wrong, but one can get to these stations by simply staying on the Jubilee, yes? Why is it then that the TfL journey planner has got me taking the Central to Ealing Bdway, or the Central to White City, or the Central to West Ruislip, and THEN the Jubbly from Bond Street to Stanmore, when i can just (to the best of my knowledge) get from Stratford to Stanmore by just staying on the Jubilee??

Well because the Journey Planner by default gives you the quickest journey, which is Central to Bond Street and then Jubilee to Stanmore. The Jubilee goes the long way round through Canary Wharf, Bermondsey and Waterloo, and therefore takes ages, so it's not a desirable route and is unlikely to be offered unless (I believe there is one) you select an option to show the routes with as few interchanges as possible.

Beacuse the quickest way between the two points is not the Jubilee Line. Between Stratford and Bond Street the Jubillee line goes via three sides of a square compared to the Central's one. www.simonclarke.org/lul/maps/lul.gif

Just looking at the map, it appears that this is not unique. Central: From West Ruislip to Epping it might be quicker to take the Met from Ruislip to Liverpool Street Cricle: Obviously from two opposite points its often going to be quicker to take other lines District: Ealing Broadway to Upminster, I'd take the Central to Mile End; Similarly EBDY to Edware Road I'd take the Central to NHG H&C: Taking the District from Hammersmith to Barking might be quicker? Northern: The Vic might be quicker between KXSP/Euston and Stockwell than the Northern? Picc: Uxbridge to Cockfosters is almost certainly quicker using the Met to KXSP; maybe then taking the Vic to Finsbury Park would be quicker than the Picc direct? DLR: Bank to Stratford is quicker by the Central Line. I don't know if the Jubille between Canary Wharf and Straford is quicker than the DLR or not. Certainly changing at Canning Town on a Beckton/King George V to Stratford Journey will be faster. Alternatively the NLL between Custom House and Stratford beats the Jubilee?
