Indeed. Given the various ways in the 7-car project could have gone completely and thoroughly cross-eyed, the speed and efficiency that was displayed by towerman and Co. was quite impressive

Interesting that this press release quotes the former Jubilee Line capacity as 33,000 passengers per hour per direction for a 24 tph service. This means that each train is carrying 1,375pax. If you look at LU's published train capacities, which only cover 6-car trains for the Jub., you will see a total of 1,073pax/train at 7pax/m 2. With the extra 302 standees, it means they are packed in at 8.6/m 2. We couldn't even do that in Hong Kong. With the extra car, LU suggests another 250 get in. That's another 216 standees in one car. "Move right down inside please!" Moral: Don't believe what you read in press releases.

Thanks on behalf of the Jubilee staff.BTW one of our number in the tower got a gold "Thanks to you" award over that,not me I hasten to add.
