I have seen an unusual piece of equipment on the track attached to the top of the running rail beyond the two stop lights and fixed trainstop in the bay platform at Dagenham East. It is a small rectangular box-shaped thing.
Can anyone help as to what it is? Enquiries so far have drawn a blank.
My initial thought was it might be a "track circuit interrupter" but as Plaistow and Barking bays have TCIs, they are certainly not like this. Unless it is a new type ..... ?
I have a photo - how can I display it to you chaps/chapesses out there please?

The equipment measures the temperature and then sends a message when certain trigger levels are reached so that staff can carry out cab rides etc they also have the own monitors for checking other locations.

I have a photo - how can I display it to you chaps/chapesses out there please? On the screen where you create a post, there's a button (as shown in the image below, by the red circle) which creates the following code: [im g][/i mg] As per this image: You then add the url of your image (it must be hosted on-line somewhere on the net....we recommend Photobucket) between the two 'img' blocks and hey presto! your image is shown within your post. Please be aware of the forum limits though! (they can be found by clicking here).
