The full Sunday service is the same as Saturday except that it's from 12pm-8pm instead of 9am-9pm.

Slight aside, but in my view the Jubilee needs the same service-frequency as the Victoria line.
Since the extension opened, this line seems to be crowded to rush-hour levels all the time. I've stood on the platforms and seen them fill up within seconds of a train leaving - and for theDMIs to show the next train at 4 mins away or longer even in the peak. Woefully inadequate for a high-use line of it's type, imo.
Even the addition of the extra coach (and this line should have been 7-coach from the opening of the extension, in my view) didn't seem to do much to alleviate the crowding on this line.

The problem with the 7th coach that I believe it spurred additional growth owing to its huge advertising... had it not been advertised to such a degree (other than a passing mention as the line had to close - could have said it was for "line upgrades") - I reckon crowding would have been alleviated for longer than it did.

I've noticed for years that the JLE service interval is far inferior to other lines. Why is this? Is it the signal spacing that was never designed for manually-driven trains?

Swlines, I really doubt that - come on, I doubt that anybody's line of thought went like "oh, they added one more coach to train on the Jubilee line, let's use it!". I don't think that most people even heard about extra coach addition.
As for the frequency, it really is ridiculous - as a constant user of the line (during both peaks) I see 5+ minute times between trains all the time. I recently spend an hour at my local station waiting for a date, and it went like 4 - 5 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 5 - 5 - 1 - 1 - 1 all the time...

In my view, LULs whole handling of the JLE phenomenin has been rather odd. Almost as if they've been continually taken by surprise by it's heavy usage from word go. I once heard they hadn't expected so many people to use it to travel from the north end of it through to London Bridge - as they thought people would continue to use the Thamellink from West Hampstead rather than just stay on the Jubilee!

I also remember reading somewhere that they were surprised at the volume of passengers travelling all the way to Stratford. I got the impression they were expecting far more trains to reverse at North Greenwich than actually do.
