Here a Video (sorry in German - but see the Pictures in the Film!) a Bogie (with the Traction Motor) with Hot Oilpipes are too Hot and Burns. 50 People are secured by the Train Captain on the Carriage the Victims are P89 01 and 04 Greetings Dennis

Interesting indeed. Both unmodified.
01 was the first to be delivered to the DLR on 07.08.86 and 04 was the one that tried to go off the end at Island Gardens while on test on 10.03.87.

Thanks Dennis, very interesting. Do you know how many of the vehicles are still in Docklands colours, and when they are planning to change them to Essen yellow?
PS Just one small correction to the stock type - P89 Stock was vehicles 12-21 built by the ex-British Rail engineering company in York, England in 1989/90. Vehicles 01-11 were classed as P86 Stock and were built by LHB in Salzgitter, Germany in 1986.
I believe LHB adapted the DLR vehicles from one of their previous tram designs, and then licensed it for BREL to build the P89 in the VK.

When I was there a couple of years ago only a few hadn't been repainted. I was under the impression that all of them are now in EVAG livery - evidently not!
