When is the new timetable coming into effect? (WTT 10)
I thought that it was supposed to be in September. Obviously this is not going to happen.
I've now heard rumours that it will be in November.
Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Thanks but no thanks. I'll just wait and see what other rubbish they've got for us.

Third platform at Stanmore? More tinkering with the central area service?

Okay Cheers! So does this mean more trains will be for Stanmore instead of Wilesden Green, Neasden and Wembley Park?

WTT11 January 2010 full upgrade service, which is supposed to be 30tph in the peaks, although some of the bumph I've seen reckons that the 30tph peak & 24tph off peak will only be between Willesden Grn & North Greenwich.

I just can't see how they are going to get 30 TPH in the peak with the signalling system they are using.
Until they go fully ATO I don't think it will happen.
Come to think about it, even when it is full ATO I can't see it working. I'd like to be proven wrong though.

If more trains serve Stanmore, does that mean some of the extra trains will reverse short of Stratford?

In my view, with the current detrainment processes, 30tph with reversing at Willesden Green and N Greenwich would be impossible. N Greeenwich reversers can have a full speed run into the middle road but W Hampstead, Willesden Grn and Wembley Park all suffer from having to detrain in the main platform. It usually delays the train by 90s minimum and then there is the slow crawl into the siding. This is not consistent with a 120s headway. To get a reliable 120s headway, all these trains would have to go through to Stanmore. I'm not even sure if Stanmore would support a 120s headway, especially if some NB trains are sent across the SB into the sidings.

If they had more staff at WH, WG and WP then the detrainments would be much quicker

I belive under the new system trains will run into and out of sdgs in TBTC mode thus speeding up reversing.

It isn't the speed we go into the sidings, it is the time taken to get the passengers off the train. If I, as a driver, did the first carrage and there were 2 (yes 2) other station staff detraining then mabe it would be done in a lot less time than it is at the moment.
Don't forget, I have to detrain 3 cars and then walk the length of the 3 cars to get back to the front. If there were 2 other station staff doing the job then it would be done in half the time.

It's a combination of the two. What you say about detraining is absolutely correct but the clearance for signalling on the approach to a station relies on the train in front leaving at maximum acceleration. The extra run out time for a train leaving at 10mph compared with normal acceleration to 35mph is 25s. This will do serious damage to a 120s headway.

Correct. WTT11 will be early in the new year of 2010 (possibly Feb though). Detailed spec being drawn up now. Won't be 30tph to start with. WTT12 will follow later in 2010.
