Hi folks, does anyone by any chance have any speed limit information for the circle/ditrict sections please? Any help would be useful.

I seem to remember Colin saying somewhere it was 35mph in the tunnels?

35mph is the maximum in the District tunnels, but there are places where it is lower - e.g. 25 between Tower Hill and Monument.

Indeed I did - on the District line 35mph is the maximum permitted line speed in tunnel sections and 45mph is the maximum permitted line speed in open sections...........however....
Those above are the line maximums though like adw says, there are lower limits all over the place & for all sorts of reasons ranging from track geometry & SPAD mitigation to train entering terminal platforms, etc, etc.
IMHO there are far far too many to list, if that's what the OP was looking for....

Well there is the 5mph restriction Gloucester Road-Earl's Court on the W/B Road, and West Kensington-Earl's Court on the E/B Road. ;D

Well according to the rather cheesy leaflet recently distributed to all District line drivers, SPAD in reverse means Drivers Are Professional & Safe....... ;D ;D....

Rather like the automated "this train is being held at a red signal, we should be moving shortly" message. No mention of *why*. Presumably so that if a train is halted in a tunnel passengers can be assured that the driver hasn't dropped dead! What reassurance does this give when the 'robot' voice frankly gives the idea that it might be generated by wheel revolutions and is totally impersonal.

You have the 30 second instruction to thank for this one. More often than not, of course, the reason your train has stopped at a red signal is because you have a professional driver (opps sorry) of a train ahead. Now depending on the location etc, slow running may well be nothing out of the ordinary - or maybe the driver dosen't actually know what's going on... Because we now have to make a PA after 30 seconds regardless of whether or not we know the reason, and then follow it up 2 minutes later with another PA.......it is far easier to use the DVA for the 30 second PA then do a manual one after 2 minutes - that's how I work anyway. We are actually subject to mystery shoppers now and are getting feedback on the results at team talks - well we are at Upminster anyway.

40mph round the top half of the Circle which explains why the District is usually responsible for holding us up!

Hi folks,
Thanks for the replies. Perhaps should have been more specific - was after circle inner and Edgware Rd-Wimbledon. Platforms/Main roads only,no need for sidings etc.
