Its original purpose sounds like a question that Siddy Holloway would know the answer to?

The domed building in location A looks like Old College at RMA Sandhurst with the gateway flying the RAF pennant looking like RAF Uxbridge. The patch of water in location C looks rather like Studland Bay down by Poole.

The link would appear to be that all these stations are having strctural work done to them with presumably alterations to their normal passenger routes in and out.

Seeing as the houses are relatively new looking, could it be the estate that was built upon the site of the Aldenham Bus Overhaul site that was in turn originally intended to be the Northern Line tube depot?

Guessing really but it is an odd picture with a seemingly disproportionate amount of road in the foreground. I am assuming that there is a railway line behind the photographer since there doesn't appear to be one elsewhere in the pic. Fairly modernish bungalows so perhaps somewhere on the eastern half of the Central Line say, Fairlop way?

Presumably between Harrow & Wealdstone and Watford Junction then. I'd go for between Bushey and Carpenders Park.

Down Street closed long before the Piccadilly Line was extended westwards from Hounslow West. So why would it have a sign pointing out the platform required for its non-existent passengers?

I would say that the first inset is Ropley on the Watercress Line, The last inset [grey Peckett loco] is Bristol Harbour and the background is the Aldwych platforms at Holborn.

I was trying to think of anywhere that would have four tracks of Southern third rail but would still have a TfL association. It seems to me that Location A ought to be somewhere around Richmond to Kew Bridge or possibly on the Wimbledon branch. In the absence of any fourth rail, I would think that it is London Overground lines between Willesden and Clapham Junction. Location C looks like one we have seen before - possibly GE main line between Bethnal Green and London Fields.
