So far it seems the list of keys is: - Standard J door key
- Yale-type key
- Traditional control/reverser key
- Traditional guards key (position)
- Traditional guards key (door operation)
- RKL220 (is this one of the types already mentioned?)
- S-stock key
- 2009 stock key (maybe the same as the S-stock key?)
Have I understood that right? Yale type key, is RKL220 Control and Reverser key are two separate, different sizes "Traditional guards key (door operation)" were only for R Stock (2009 Stock is the same as S Stock) The old guard's key (T shaped i think with square semi-tapered shank) was also used on R T buses and called a budget key. It fitted the conductors box and several of the hatches around the vehicle.

I didn't know that the connection at Richmond had been removed---surely this is false economy. losing a link like this which provides a bit of flexibility in an emergency or whatever is a retrograde step. It's not as though much track involved .

All very well to hand over to Tfl, but the way things are they probably can't afford it.

Had an interesting morning with the Battersea crew once. When the updating work started at Victoria somebody cut a thick cable in the District line ticket hall. It later dropped down on the District line tracks. It meant trains couldn't run. Eventually one train was held in each platform and one of the crew climbed onto the roof of the trains and tied the cable up. He was rather rotund and it was a tight squeeze. These days that would be classed as having too much practicality and common-sense!

Quite, not easy to do . An opportunity arose when the 1952 (?) goods and parcels station on the no1 platform side closed and became a car hire depot and Indian takeaway. I can remember this in being as a child but don't know when it was closed down. Anyone have a photo of it? The similar one at Loughton was in being in 1965 but by c1982 was a used car lot. Nice 1960 video on youtube, complete with station exterior, BR vehicles, horse and cart, and Hillman Californian "Was one of those pubs called "The Plume of Feathers" (can't quite make out the writing with my aged eyesight?I used to play bass in there sometimes with local clarinet player Dave Shepherd and saxophonist Danny Moss occasionally.

Further to my post back in Feb:. I read today on Ianvisits site that Bromley council is opposing the bakerloo ext: on various grounds one of which is what I said about Hayes residents not wanting confined tube gauge trains. Also they think that the proposed tube service would take them to the west end area while a lot of them want to use the present destination's (which would involve a change of train etc: under the proposed plan.)

Far better to forget all this and revert to extending to Camberwell Green as origionally planned . C G is an obvious traffic center with not very good N R access within short walking distance. Then possibly extend to Dulwich area. I'm sure that Hayes residents would be delighted to swap their present trains for yet another overlong tube journey as with Epping etc: There is quite a bit of transport access in the Lewisham /Old Kent road area already with docklands and overground etc: Camberwell has a very large hospital (Kings college plus Maudslay etc:) with limited and horrific car parking which I know from personal expierience. Denmark Hill station is quite a walk from these venues and has limited useful services for the area. And as for Loughbobo' Junc the station is a joke with only one direction sevices and derelict platforms galore. There was a perfectly good station just off New rd: but it was closed years ago although even this is a medium walk from C G .At least this would have direct access to central London.
