Little Venice. Has TfL taken on the Regent's Canal services? Can't wait to see the Roundel. I imagine it'll be some kind of murky brown colour as that seems to be the default for most canals! l And the Bakerloo

Just been watching a cab view video on a train bound for Kilburn high road to reverse. What struck me was the general decreptitude (--- me,why did I use that word?!)of the lineside with weeds galore and on approaching the beginning of the north shed the piles of rubbish ,half-buried old track, and redundant buffer stops including a large hydraulic one on derelict tracks entering the start of the shed. The actual structure seems to be in fair condition although the two tracks are blanked off from the used tracks by further bufferstops further down the shed. Surely there would be room for at least two more stabling spaces if this was tidied up and restored to proper condition? The lighting seems to be operational to just north of the present stops but not lit from there to the end of the building. Incidentally, does anyone know if the doors at the south end of the south shed are ever opened? Sorry about abrupt end of previous post{mains interruption here.)

I wouldn't say that. If you regularly watch U S rail videos there are constant derailments etc:

Surprised that many more freight liner trains do not have derailment problems when you see long strings of unladen flats between loaded ones and very often flats with a container on one end only placed in the middle of unloaded units.

A bit late but this is from last weeks ASLEF Trains Health and Safety Council Update (THSC) No.117 06/11/2019 I hope they drilled holes in the ends of the cracks before bolting plates over them?

I did remember hearing that when berthing on No: 21 road they used to go right down the trap siding and tight up against the buffers?

I often think that 'flange climb' risk would be lessend by having deeper flanges . When you look at images of wheel flanges, they appear to be rather small compared to the depth of rail etc: There is probably a good reason for the present dimensions --any answers?

Sureley the electric lines are on the North side beyond Ilford? They're on the south side once you pass Ilford going west towards the core.....And don't call me Shirley. 😉 Got the impression that it's going east from the gist of the posts but then I'm in a surly mood today

Quite possibly not. The access to the core is from the 'Electric' lines, which are on the south side once you pass Ilford. It is entirely possible to run the current service on the 'Main' Lines, but the platforms at those stations aren't really suited for passenger operations, I believe. Sureley the electric lines are on the North side beyond Ilford?

I think that the current changeover was not swithed off briefly but used resistors to stop the two supplies from shorting out. (Lineside resistors)
