I had meant to post this a week ago. On the Friday 27th October, I was travelling from Cannon Street to East Putney. I had to change at Earls Court, and noticed that a "Stops Here" train was due to arrive just after my Wimbledon train was leaving and that there was a second Wimbledon train about 4 minutes after the first one. So I caught the first one and got off at Parsons Green. Sure enough an empty train (033) then arrived at Parsons Green but then it sat in the platform for three or four minutes. I noticed that the driver walked through the train, back to at least the fifth car, before returning to the cab and then taking the train into one of the sidings. The following Wimbledon train was sitting behind the terminating train for some while.
A couple of weeks before I had been on a Parsons Green terminator and even though the train was not crowded, it took some time for everyone to be cleared from the train before it moved off. This wasn't helped by the platform DMI having changed from "Terminates Here" to "Wimbledon" while the terminating train was sill in the platform, so two or three people jumped on the train.
I can see why the decision was made to run out of service from Earl's Court.

I was going to suggest Brent Cross, as it has that 1926 Northern Line Edgware extension vibe. But I suspect that ianr is right. Hendon Central +1

East Putney +1 I often choose that set of stairs, which is near the line that heads around to Clapham Junction.

Clapham Common? It looks like the route taken from the platform to the escalators.

I was going to suggest B as Park Royal, and I agree that D is Mile End. So I am going to suggest that B is West Acton and the link is the Central line.

Hammersmith is the only one of those four stations that is not connected to the Central Line.

Alas, I cannot offer a solution, but we owe a huge thanks to Chris for running the quiz for many years. We should appreciate the hosting we have received from the Swansea University Computer Society. I do hope that a reasonably priced solution can be found.

I had an unexpected direct train from East Putney to Euston Square this morning. The train left East Putney at about 8.15am. When we were approaching Edgware Road, the driver announced that the train would not be terminating at Edgware Road, so we should ignore the announcements telling us to leave the train. We arrived in platform 1, and after a few moments it was announced as a Hammersmith & City line train to Barking. The train reached Euston Square at bout 8.50am
While we were at Edgware Road, I noticed a Wimbledon train in platform 2.
It made for a more convenient morning journey.

When the W&C was transferred to LU, and the 92TS painted in that <...> NSE livery put in commission, The 1992 stock was already on the Waterloo & City line, as they were introduced in NSE days. However, they were tested on the Central line, as I used to work close to Leytonstone station and saw 8-car trains of the new stock out on test. It was easy to tell if the trains were headed for the Central or W&C line, as they had very different liveries. Alas, this was before I had a digital camera, so I never got a photo.

It can be instructive to see an unfamiliar public transport system shown in a more familiar style. (So for me that is in the LT standard). But is isn't easy to see how your system of naming services relates to the current services we know. To take as an example, you pcongre have allocated the name U14 to the central line, but there are lots of suffixes that I just don't understand as I can't see an explanation.

So Oakwood would have been a contender for this group when it opened as Enfield West.

I recognise this view! The nearby station has quite a fun lift. (Deliberately giving a clue rather than the answer).

What an interesting thread. Growing up in Gants Hill, I was used to Stratford not having roundels. I recall East Putney having Network Southeast station names - presumably Southfields and Wimbledon Park had them too, they didn't get roundels until the underground took over the management. I have a lurking thought that one of the W&C platforms at Waterloo doesn't have roundels, but that might be a false memory.
