I was at Barons Court this morning and saw the steam-hauled train pass by about 10 minutes late. I've posted a few shots on facebook. It was a better experience than seeing the steam train rush through Bayswater last year. I hope those on a trip enjoy it.

My favourite is not Gants Hill - I grew up there and used it regularly so it just seems normal to me. (Sorry)
I think my favourite is West Kensington - it has an old fashioned air about it and has flower beds and a set of points leading off away from the through tracks.
Gloucester Road (GN&PB platforms) also have a nice atmosphere too.

And if it is Ealing Broadway, it has to be platform 7.

Is the link that these are all two word station names where both names start with the same letter? Thus B could be Sloane Square. I can't immediately think of an open Leslie Green station that could be D.

I've just worked out why it was Holland Park yesterday. Do I get 3 goals? (I mean points....)

I wonder if it started on the buses and spread to the underground once they were part of the combine or if using a + shape was a regular occurrence in other places?

And there are too many tracks for Macclesfield. It must be somewhere else.

I was thinking that I wasn't close at all as Redbridge is on the Central line, one stop from Gants Hill. Then I realised that was what Rincewind meant.

Somewhere on the District line?
Or if not, somewhere District trains used to go (that will include the Hounslow and Uxbridge branches).

Alas, I didn't see the C stock on my way to work (East Putney towards Earls Court at 8am this morning) I may have just missed it, but otherwise I only saw a C stock in a siding at Parsons Green.

And it can't be Bank because as brigham pointed out the central rail is lying directly on the sleepers.

I don't think that it is Aldwych as at least the most recently used platform has an anti-suicide pit, and neither of the platforms have ballast.
Did the Great Northern & City platforms get anti-suicide pits installed? I haven't ever thought to look on the rare occasions I've been on that line.
The only underground tube stations I can think of without them are on the Waterloo and City line. It doesn't look like Waterloo, which means that it could possibly be Bank.

Is Becton the odd one out as the stunting neck at the other three is used regularly by reversing trains?

It has the Circle line going to Hammersmith, but the Aldwych branch (or shuttle?) has re-opened and the Jubilee line extended from Charing Cross to Cannon Street as well as the JLE, and no Overground. A very curious version of the map.
