It means people buying period tickets at origin for a station just up the line, plus a similar 'short' ticket at destination end and then travelling 'free' in the middle part of the journey. I can recall a snap revenue check at Ealing Broadway many years ago at the interface between what was then BR and the LT lines finding this to have been anything but a rare occurrence (e.g., Hayes & Harlington to Southall plus Tottenham Court Road to Holborn). Presumably this involves a station where you can get to a ticket machine without having to go through a barrier? How many LU stations do not have ticket barriers? And, any idea where the name comes from? Several people here seem to be aware of it but Google isn't (at least not in the first entries). It was also called Dumb bell as well because valid ticket for start and finish but nothing in the middle edited coz I just notice someone else mentioned Dumb Bell as well

As of next Monday the number of D stock nominated workings will reduce to 23. Trains 3, 5, 30 & 65 deleted and train 56 added.
The Monday - Friday list is :
11, 15, 26, 56, 4, 101, 102, 10, 12, 105, 107, 20, 63, 125, 67, 62, 35, 66, 6, 1, 54, 124, 106.
Still on track to have enough S stocks to run the entire service from end of August / early September though a few Ds will survive probably until October / November.
Going through my duty book it appears a lot of the earlier Ealing Common stablers are the Nominated D workings

On Friday I was on a train that went into wrong platform at Gloucester Road as a result the train had to go via High St Ken to Earl's Court resulting in 7007 being on the west end I had my hands full so was unable to get a picture I don't know if it has been "re-reversed" so it back the correct way round

So what is the issue that is causing the objection. The BBC article refers to a door opening, is it a door opening and the pilot light dropping out (which is still serious and shouldn't happen) or was the train op not aware? And also, I guess, how much did said door open; an inch, a foot, a yard or completely? I heard that a doors opened on a train and motors still operating a serious problem if correct ie doors open no pilot light should been no motors

You could buy a CD Rom from LT Museum shop a few years ago which contained three versions of Johnston P22 font which included the various symbols that were used not sure if they still do it though

Should be the usual twenty-minute weekend service from HSK - trains 112/3. Starts at 05.53 on Saturday, 07.35 on Sunday and finishes at 23.50 both days. Additionally, a replacement bus service operates on Friday. (Not got this week's Traffic Circular at home, so I'm not sure of the specifics of that - will update tomorrow.) Train 113 & 114 are the Olympia sets and they are running a normal weekend schedule.

I have had my iPhone checked whilst on a Thameslink train heading towards Sutton I was told to press the home button twice as usual to activate the app it recognises if the card has been tapped in or not it won't say an amount as it totals up at end of day (to enable capping etc)

It's not unusual to find all four platforms at Wimbledon occupied. As soon as a train departs the next one arrives. In general, trains to Edgware Road use platform 1 or 2, those to Tower Hill or Barking use platform 3 or 4. It's not immediately obvious which train will leave first. If the trains get out of sequence on the way in then the platforming goes out of the window. John Really? We get routed into a vacant platform there is no plat 1 or 2 Edgware rd or plat 3 or 4 city so it is pot luck where we get routed too
