My mistake, 270 codes cannot be used in platform sections, but 420 codes are permitted. Does this mean a train can pass through a station at full linespeed?

My experience today (only having done the crossover today for the first time) was: 420 until just past the crossover cavern, then 270, then 180 on arrival at platform 5. Reversing was 270 until past the crossover cavern, then up to 420.
270 and 420 codes are not permitted in station platforms. I think that a 270 should be allowed though closed stations as at the moment trains have to come to a complete stop, even when non-stopping stations.

I was there around 14:10 on my way to Seven Sisters and returned around 17:30. Also did platforms 2 and 3 at East Finchley today, another rare move, and done the Titans and Metrobuses on the rail rep. I've 'done' the route from the tipping out platform at Seven Sisters to Tottenham Hale before as well. Anybody else 'do' Highbury today?

Might see you about then! What time you going in? I'm going from Highbury to Seven Sisters to go to the football then back after.

YES! I need to do that one, plus I need to go on the Victoria tomorrow today anyway!
Still need to do Warren Street, done Victoria though. I am the track recorder after all!

Hmm...
Watford Junction > Willesden Junction LL > (mainline shunt) > Willesden Junction HL > Gunnersbury (reverse) > Hammersmith > High Street Kensington > Edgware Road > Baker Street (Circle/H&C) > (mainline shunt) > Baker Street (Met)

I recall reading somewhere a while back that for a few weekends in the early 1970s, Bakerloo trains were diverted at Finchley Road to Baker Street Met platforms. Was this to do with platform reconstruction work?

Did Marylebone have a crossover?

Is that crossover between Waterloo and Lambeth a scissors?

Right, managed to get a couple of photos, not many due to low battery.
Will upload them to my website within the hour...

Actually ignore that. Silverlinks are still running from Euston so will just bail out at the station itself! Will be going down there in about 10 mins time...

Are there any vantage points near KHR where I could get decent pics of 72s reversing?

I assume the trains (72s or 313s?) will be running empty to KHR?

One of the reasons for the (very) high number of SPADs on the Queen's Pk NB starter is the read-through from WS13 which has been cleared early. With WS13, could they use slightly angled tunnel hoods to prevent read-through, similar to what you get with traffic lights sometimes at complex road junctions?

Why was there a Bakerloo service to there during the blackouts of 2003, surely this wouldn't be allowed due to there being no trainstops? Surely they could have terminated at Queen's Park.

Do Bakerloo drivers still sign this route?
And another thing, has there ever been a time when a 72 stock has been diverted there with passengers apart from the 2003 blackouts?

The 38 stock survived long enough to see Hatton Cross, whilst the 59s lasted a bit longer to see the arrival of Heathrow Central (now Terminals 1,2,3) before being replaced by the 73 stock.

Seems to have weekend closures for the next few weekends, what will they be doing, retiling the platforms?

Is the trailing crossover at Kings Cross a passenger-signalled move or is it a shunt?

Good idea.
It would speed up getting those sightseeing District drivers out of the way! ;D

With the South Ealing situation, you could have Heathrow services run from Earls Court to Northfields calling at Hammersmith and Acton Town only, with Northfields reversers serving all stations.

One possibility is that Northfields reversers could call additionally at Turnham Green, possibly running via the local and calling additionally at other stations.

I've not done either, Piccadillys on the local or Districts on the fast. Do you know if Piccadillys will make additional calls at Ravenscourt Park, Stamford Brook, Turnham Green and Chiswick Park over those weekends?

What is this obsession with the west end of the Picc? It has an east end too!! Well, some of you 'green' drivers seem to like attempting to reclaim South Harrow by trying to go the 'blue way' at a certain junction beyond Ealing Common... ;D ;D

With regards to the suspension, would it not be possible for Piccadilly trains to be diverted to Earls Court District?

How is east-west reversal being done at Hammersmith, is it like this?
Arrive on EB fast platform, tip out, into siding, reverse into WB fast, back into service.

The suspension was put in place today due to a one-under at Earl's Court.

I think it would be useful to have one at North Ealing or Park Royal to reverse District services that have accepted a wrong route at Hanger Lane Junction.
