UTS would need to be installed in the old exit area at Holloway Road to prevent fare evasion. There is space for two more lifts where the double-spiral escalator was.

How about Barons Court or Acton Town sidings? Mind you, there is the potential that it would screw up early reversals at Acton, but Barons Court is very rarely used as a reversing point these days.
The Aldwych platform at Holborn could have been another stabling point but then again this would involve reversing just beyond the station to reach the platform. This could be done quicker if the train was double manned.

What about using the King's Cross Loop as a siding? This is hardly ever used anyway, and wouldn't block the area for early reversals.

Are the 73 stock cleared to Gunnersbury as an emergency destination, if using the local line instead of the fast for some reason? Have Piccadilly drivers 'signed' this route?
EDIT: Having said that, I doubt it as Network Rail signalling and rules apply at Gunnersbury.

Well, I wouldn't say High Street Kensington is 'just' off the Piccadilly track wise. I know Piccadilly drivers sign Ealing Broadway and the 'local' lines from Baron's Court to Acton Town, but do they still sign West Kensington? Is there anywhere else Piccadilly drivers sign?

The on-train DMIs can display any station on the Piccadilly line.

I suppose they would have done if it was a manual PA announcement, but 'Automatic Phil' can't do those shortened versions!

If we're talking long announcements, I remember one from Weymouth a couple of years back:
The train now standing at platform two is the 22:35 South West Trains service to London Waterloo. Calling at Upwey, Dorchester South, Moreton, Wool, Wareham, Hamworthy, Poole, Parkstone, Branksome, Bournemouth, Pokesdown, Christchurch, Hinton Admiral, New Milton, Sway, Brockenhurst, Ashurst New Forest, Totton, Redbridge, Millbrook, Southampton Central, St. Denys, Swaythling, Southampton Airport Parkway, Eastleigh, Shawford, Winchester, Micheldever, Basingstoke, Hook, Winchfield, Fleet, Farnborough, Brookwood, Woking, West Byfleet, Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, Surbiton, Wimbledon, Clapham Junction and London Waterloo.
All stations to West Byfleet except for Holton Heath and Beaulieu Road!

I always wonder why they don't show CLOCKWISE or ANTI-CLOCKWISE on the blinds to confirm direction of the train, rather than just CIRCLE LINE.

I'm pretty impressed with the new setup at King's Cross St. Pancras. It allows direct interchange to the Thameslink (now FCC) services and all Underground lines behind the barriers. Before, I had to go through two sets of UTS gates to get from the Northern / Piccadilly / Victoria lines to the SSL platforms. This seems to have relieved congestion as people don't have to keep stopping to get their tickets out, especially when they have lugguage.

Just noticed something on the TfL website. Anyone got any ideas why Neasden seems to have appeared on the Met's list of departure boards? Click HERE and look in the dropdown menu.

Mets are terminating at Northwood this weekend. What end do they actually reverse, is there a crossover south/east of the station or is it a WB - EB shunt?

Even if it doesn't provide a decent route from Central London to Watford, it could open up the opportunity for a direct NR service from Aylesbury / Amersham (using the North Curve) to connect with WCML (Virgin / First ScotRail) and Silverlink services at Watford Junction.

My idea is based on having a platform on the former depot side, the NB track would have a platform either side of it but doors would only open on the new platform side, not the existing island, that would be used for southbound trains. Are you suggesting a bay platform? You could instead replace the trailing crossover at the Hertford end with a scissors so both platforms can be used for reversal at weekends when matches are on. Drayton Park does have a fairly narrow platform though. I suppose a second platform could be built on the NB side, with the existing island becoming southbound only.
Personally I would also have a second match day-only ticket office on the new footbridge (that leads to the Emirates itself) with stairs and a lift leading down to the new platform (making the station DDA compliant) and existing island platform.

Ditto!
It's the same to go to Epping too (Holly Rd £3.50/£2.00 + Highbury £1.80/£1.00), but I think there is a route (Seven Sisters to Stratford) where PAYG is accepted.

One thing I have noticed with Oyster is that Highbury & Islington to Moor Park is £1.80/£1.00 despite the fact you travel through zone 1, it is not reflected in the price. But go from Holloway Road 10 minutes walk away and it is £3.50/£2.00 which is the right via zone 1 fare.
You could go via the NLL but PAYG is not valid, so you'd be liable to Penalty Fares and/or you could be reported for prosecution.

Camden Road has Oyster readers on its gates, but PAYG is not accepted for travel there yet. You can however topup PAYG and/or load a TC onto Oysters at the ticket machine.

The problem is the tolerance of other motorists - we still have one reverse turn (Uley Church for the benefit of TRC666!), where previously we took pride in staying on one side of the road. Now, the only way of doing it is to pull diagonally across the road blocking both sides - if you don't, nobody gives you enough room to reverse out of the way. This of course is an empty bus manoeuvre. Ah, the 4 a day each way on the 20! The rest of them terminate at Stonehouse or Dursley. Has the 20 got Solos yet? I was thinking of the 40 at Wotton because I have seen them reverse on to the stop after coming off the roundabout coming in from Stroud, this was done with passengers onboard.
