I presume the decision to use "Hammersmith via Paddington" is to imply that the H&C platforms are the most convenient for the NR station, when of course for most of the station, they're not.

C Stock are getting new car diagrams. Wood Lane is shown as a "walking distance" out of station interchange, even though this did not appear on the last journey planner/system map.

Jut been looking into this, and it looks like the Circle is, by soem margin, the longest-established service pattern on the Underground - 125 years and 2 months of going round in circles. 2/10/1884; IIRC. However, the Inner Circle services had to share their track with a lot more visitors back then; it is only relatively recently that the service patterns have settled down to what will soon finish.

Now I am pretty certain the font isn't original "Johnston" and is "New Johnston" in Bold. It appeared briefly on the buses before TfL ordered a return to the original "Johnston".
Can't believe they've put "via Paddington" (that is indeed what the O stock carried) Since it doesn't clarify the route there is no point in having a "via" ... should have been "via Wood Lane" or perhaps not there at all !!
Dagenham East and Neasden have been removed from the blind.
Bromley-By-Bow continues to be missing despite being a H&C emergency reversing point (it was there in the days of black/white blinds).
I dare say we'll get used to the blind. (we'll have to !!)

By my reckoning C Stock have had white-on-black, white-on-blue and yellow-on-black blinds.

"Aldersgate" has been known as "Barbican" for the past 41 years. Was someone thinking about having a blind on the C's say "via Barbican"?

From December 13th why bother putting "Circle Line" on the blinds at all? It doesn't really mean anything, only that one station happens to get stopped at twice in one journey. In fact why not dump either the Circle or H&C from the maps and amalgamate it all into one line. In effect it would be very similar in route layout to the eastern end of the Central Line with its loop.

Something has to be put on the blinds! It would be very confusing to be at Baker Street e/b amd see a train with Edwgare Road on the front. Or at Gloucster rd e/b and see "Hammersmith" Also, LT assure us (ha, ha) that passengers on the HSK to Paddington section will be able to make a cross platform interchange at ERd if they take a Circle rather than a District, so such passengers must be able to tell them apart.

Would it be a possibility, once the HELIX line starts, if there were some problems on the Paddington to Hammersmith section, for trains to be again temporarily run in a circle? Or would they be shuffled back and forth from Edgeware in both directions? [That doesn't seem possible].
What does the current H&C do if this problem arises?In our efforts to restore the service after disruption, anything is possible to try and regain a right time service. This could mean a train approaching Edgware Road so late, that instead of going to Hammersmith and back, it carries on around the Circle. So there could be the odd "all-round Circle" after 13th December, but don't go waiting for them as they are likely to be very few and far between (until around mid-January ;D ;D) As for the current H&C, again anything is possible during/after disruption. I notice Wembley Park is still on the blinds. Shame drivers are not kept up-to-date on route knowledge for this destination, otherwise that too could be an option ;D ;D

There are a few early and late journies that do a through "circle" via Edgware Road, generally the starting or stabling "city outstablers". They should, technically, display plain "Circle Line" for at least part of those trips.

You will get that occassionally when they decide to reform a Circle/H&C train into a District at Edgware Road, with a District driver taking over at Edgware Road.

One Friday lunchtime a few weeks ago, I caught a Wimbledon train from Great Portland Street. There have been at least 3 such services this week during the afternoon/evening period (and only counting Monday, Tuesday and yesterday). There have also been a handful of services in the other direction (i.e. ex-Wimbledon, forming onto an eastbound service at Edgware Road.)

Perhaps a more regular routing of such services would alieviate some problems on the western side of the circle?

There are lots of options. Another could be Wimbledon, Earls Court then half doing a clockwise circle and the other half an anti clockwise. Of course you would still need the H&C doing the tea cup. But all fantasy anyway because as we all know there isn't the paths or rolling stock to do this and it just creates too much complexity.

how about an extended circle line pay rise to reflect the increased productivity they want out of us?

i got a tacky extended circle line 2010 diary the other day. seems a bit of a waste of money since 99.9% of the staff would already have a diary from their union. how about an extended circle line pay rise to reflect the increased productivity they want out of us? We have got Jack S***..... new rosters are sooo bad iv put in for Hammersmith Met, don't wanna go but seems they want people to be forced out!

Regarding line diagrams:
Some (but not all) maps on the Piccadilly line trains have been updated to show the Circle line interchange at Hammersmith; this has been done through replacing the whole map, not through a sticker.
Also, some of the maps on the C stock show the Circle line as gold at some points - I'm guessing this was a printing error?

Passengers from HSK could be advised to change at Gloucester Road or NHG to tube line depending on destination; passengers at Bayswater to walk to Royal Oak or Queensway; passengers at Paddington to use suburban or take bus to Edgware Road. Then Praed Street-HSK can be closed due to lack of demand and lo! a 4-platform terminus appears as if by magic...

If you look at page 24 and beyond,( relates to spads) you will see all references are to the Northern line!! Also, inside the rear cover, the map shows the Circle as it is now, not the "New" Circle. In our room we have stopped calling it the "T-Cup" as the map on the front of the diary makes it look like (and i apologise if i offend anyone) a certain thing from the toiletries department that women use on a monthly basis!! Hence we now call it the T*****!
