Mrs Hobbayne knows a member of staff with a disability which was recognised by LUL and was interviewed and subsequently offered a position at Green Pk. The area manager told the staff member that they did not want them working at the station with said disability, and hounded the staff member till they left. Strike called for the 3rd of June. The bank holiday Jubilee weekend. Can you confirm that the strike is related to the disabled person being victimised by a manager? (If not, why not?)

Which group does Green Park come under? Presumably this will be a station staff strike for that line only, even though it will obviously mean impacting Jubilee, Victoria and Piccadilly lines?

According to the RMT London Calling website the ballot was for "Green Park & Euston Areas" rather than the Victoria Central Group so I think that would exclude staff working at Victoria itself and the Group reserve.
My information is probably out of date but the two areas would be about 100 staff combined, 85 RMT members were eligible, 52 voted, 42 for, 10 against
I am more than happy to be corrected

It appears to be a station with a tube train at a side platform in the rear, and an island platform in the foreground with an S stock in the near platform and no train presently on the other side of the island. There might also be a track (presumably with a side platform) in the extreme foreground but I'm not sure. The station appears to be either open to the air or to have a high roof over the platforms. The platforms appear to be access by stairs down from a bridge. The large number of people on the island platform all seem to be wearing red, suggesting football supporters or a school group (but might be too many for that?). It most reminds me of Gloucester Road sub surface, but that's definitely a tube-gauge train in the background and it has its lights on suggesting that it's in service, and I can't work out why there would be one there?

The Substandard website is now carrying the story. I cant read the whole article because I'm not subscribing to read the rest. In typical Substandard mode, the comments sections are still calling for driverless trains etc.

Another day, another piteous strike threat by the appalling RMT. This time to close Euston and Green Park on 3rd June. What heroes! How brave. Their members must be so proud. Inconvenience the public, yay! Spread the joy. Thanks so much.

Inconvenience the public, yay! Spread the joy. Thanks so much. Why shouldn't staff be allowed to stand up for their working conditions? You also seem to fundamentally misunderstand how unions work; 'the appalling RMT' don't decide that there's going to be an arbitrary strike, the workers who are affected essentially say they're having one. Whilst I don't know all the details (but also have no wish to divulge more than is already in the public domain), it certainly sounds like this strike has been called as a matter of last resort. Don't forget, those on strike don't simply get a free day off. 🤦🏼♀️

Going in via a mobile device you get it a bit clearer. 96TS in the background, definitely Wembley Park, probably taken from the TCA. There's some kind of 'tilt shift' effect applied which definitely gives the impression that the S stock could be a model, but it is not.

It would also be very wise (from a personal forum perspective) for you to reconsider your description of said grades. I’m sure you’ll make the necessary alterations in swift order. 👍

You think that standing up for your rights in the face of bullying is showing contempt? That feels quite like the attitude that results in people needing to strike in the first place.

To strike and not cause disruption is missing the point - the aim is to disrupt, so that the public notices your grievances.
It's only contempt to the nation if you're a royalist or particularly keen on being in London for the Bank Holiday weekend.

I think that quite a lot of people are 'particularly keen' to be in London for that weekend, and I think that you know why. Strikes are sometimes necessary. A strike deliberately targetting a day of National celebration is, as the Guardian might say, 'inappropriate'.

Of course I know why. As a Berkshire resident, whenever there have been Royal Weddings I've been as keen as possible to be out of the area; I'd be the same if I lived near Twickenham or Wembley.
As I've said above, a strike on a day of national celebration gives the strikers a larger audience to air their greivances to, which is their aim. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on whether that is appropriate or not.

I have a fundamental issue with this - the dispute is with the employer, not the customers. There may be little or no practical difference in the railway context, but the distinction is important.
