Sunday 24th June 2007, a 4 car 1938 Tube Stock train will departing at about 11.00 and 14.30 from Golders Green. Tickets are £20 per person (no concessions)
Send a Stamped adressed envelope (A5 size) with cheque made payable to London Underground Ltd.
State number of tickets and the trip you wish to travel on. (also state if you are a current member of staff)
Places are limited as all persons must be seated, send applications to Ms. Pat Dennis, CCE&H Centenary, 4th Floor, 20 Cranbourn Street, London, WC2H 7RQ.
The cost of the ticket will include a copy of a new history book by Mike Horn (cover price £9.95).
The trips will last about two hours. Toilet facilities are severely limited and given that the train is a museum piece, eating and drinking on the train will not be allowed - i.e. no setting up picnics!
The only scheduled stop is at Mill Hill East where there will be a short layover , during which it may be possible to allow photography (time permitting)
All the usual LUL byelaws will apply.

Can I suggest that we agree on a convenient time (probably 14:30 as 11:00 is a bit early for anyone who has a long way to go) before we trip over each other while running to the post office?
I'm minded to apply for a ticket anyway while making enquiries regarding volunteering. I'll either end up with a safe seat or a spare ticket.

DWS, do you know if it is ok to travel on both trips, or are you only allowed travel on one or the other?

£20 a ticket isn't too bad for a railtour. Especially one on a 38ts.

I went on a railtour last year, and it cost me £90!
£20 is steep for a 2hr trip though, if profit is made, no doubt it will go towards its upkeep.
Lets hope a run on the Picc is on the cards soon.

Kennington loop is signalled to full passenger standard, so no problems there.
As for the trip, no idea, its 2 hrs long.........so.........GG-Kennington loop-MHE-Euston-GG?

I'm sending for my tickets. Just a quick note. It may be worth using a 'large letter' stamp instead of a 32p one. I don't want anyone falling foul of Royal Mail's incomprehensible postage rates. Don't foget, it's a book they are sending out (probably).

Mike Horn...do I remember him from LURS days?
Kennington Loop was "done" on the Northern Line 1959 Stock tour in the Eighties. On that tour was the only time I have ever been frightened....Warp Factor 9 descending into tunnels!

The 'heritage' 59ts train scratched the Kennington Loop on the Tube Centenary railtour in Novemeber 1990*
*This was to celebrate the opening of the original (and best) part of the Northern in 1890.

I'm filling out my bits & bobs for it now.
Looking at the 11:00 trip. Anyone else gonna be there? I'll have my DD Forum badge on just in case.
Cheers, ~ Matloughe
