The new canopies are just about visible from street level but photography's not really possible from that angle. I considered going onto the car park roof which overlooks it, but the place is staffed and camered-up so not too wise in today's climate. Also the revised single road with two side platforms would only allow a view of the flat roofs from that vantage point. Maybe it'll be open on Monday?

The new timetable does start on Monday, but are they still doing work at Royal Mint Street junction (The Bank branch is suspended this weekend? Or, was that done last weekend, with testing this weekend (like how the King George V service was suspended so test trains could run to Woolwich)?

In my uneducated opinion, that would seem likely. Having passed through the area a few times this week, most if not all signs of engineering work seem to have been removed, and there's only a handful of staff on site, opposed to the previous week when I could have easily counted 50+ staff working in the possession area.
Slightly off topic, but it looks like they made some quite significant progress at Delta junction last weekend too, with another large chunk of the now redundant viaduct removed. You can now clearly see where the original viaduct has been altered, and how it will connect up to the work already done from Canary Wharf under West India Quay station. The dip once it passes the Beckton branch tracks is now much more apparent.

Well, apparently it reopened ;D At least online departures board shows trains to Beckton and message about station closure was removed last night.

I like it. The station looks much better than it did before it was rebuilt. The only problem with it is that you can't take photos of C2C trains going into Fenchurch Street!

It is a vast improvement. I like it a lot. It has the same flavour as "The New Mudchute", what with the darker tint to the canopies and the line diagrams applied to white pillars spaced out along the platform walls.
I like the vinyl red, blue and turquoise 'more railway' spots applied to the windows, aswell.
What disappointed me though, was that I was itching to see how this 'out one side, in the other' would work, and they didn't bother. It was the usual scrum of people trying to get off fighting the people trying to get on. The doors were only opened on the one side, as before.
What's the use of the horseshoe if it's not going to be used?
BTW There was still a lot of hammering and general banging going on at the Mansell Street end with Carillion hard-hatters surveying various nooks and crannys overhanging the staircase.

Maybe they didn't bother use the 'horseshoe' as it was the first day, or that they will only use it when the station is busy. They will have to use both platforms when Bank is closed in December, so that trains can reverse quicker.

They were using both platforms. On approach to Tower Gateway they announced that passengers should leave by the right hand side of the train. Of course, some people ignored that and left on the left hand side

Have they installed new ticket machines that can actually deal with Oyster cards there yet?

Interesting pics, thanks. Is that a canvas underlining on the concourse roof? Reminds me a little of Dresden Hbf!

Wow, that is a huge improvement! Pity about not being able to see the c2c trains as clearly though.

Is the little shop that was just at the top of the escalators still there?

It will be closed for a few weeks. I don't know exactly what they need to do, but it is something to do with running 3-car trains.

Although am I wrong or is there a much longer walk to the train now? Is the 'overun' area extended? I can't be sure about immediately before closure, but when it opened in 1987 IIRC the buffers were only about 8ft from the concourse, and trains stopped around 8ft from the buffers. Even so it was a tight fit, with the country end of the train only just on the platform. I guess the greater distance in the rebuilt station allows a margin of error for a much faster approach to the station, which will be essential if they plan to run 20tph or thereabouts.
