I think that was because of years of being in the open.

OK, so at Acton this weekend the front fifth of DM3110 was perched on sleepers out back. An reason why it was saved? By the looks of things it was gas-axed off at Booths, the remains of the passgner saloon is gutted. Cab is in good condition (undamaged by scrapping) but lacking bits of equipment. Given most of the Covent Garden 'Simulators' are now at Acton, I can't imagine they're building a '67 simulator. Was not a pretty sight at all, especially so given the vehicle was in full working order less than 12 months ago. Any idea why it is there?
While on Acton '67 stock, the Complete DM looked like it has been fitted with BRAND NEW brake hoses on the inner coupling and what looked like brand new pickup shoes. Given the car is static only, fitting brand new parts seems strange.

Thanks tubelightsonline. I had heard about that project, and it did cross my mind , but I had assumed the display would be using 3052 with associated equipment displayed around it. The document you've provided suggests a much more comprehensive set-up. Exciting stuff.
Presumably there is enough of the necessary equipment intect on 3110. A great project.
