You think that's funny... Try driving the 378 when an alarm goes of then the computer screen comes to life to explain to you that "Ice Mode is Recommended" when it 80+ degrees outside ;-)

Due to signal sighting problems for our 5 car units we are unable to use platform 5 at Richmond hence the reason why platform 3 is in use. I believe that once the new signal in platform 5 has become live & signed off it shouldn't be too long before our trains start using platform 5 again.

Dazz, you didn't include the shocking information about train length.... Obviously an error.. Should say 4 car totaling 80 metres.

Lets just hope that this design gets tweaked along the way before production...

TfL have issued a press release to confirm that the contract for new trains for West Anglia, Romminster, GOBLIN and Watford DC lines has been signed with Bombardier after the end of the contract standstill period. Regrettably there is no real technical detail about the trains in the release and there has not been an accompanying release from Bombardier (yet). I've been checking the Bombardier site for days but nothing of relevance has appeared. tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/press-releases/2015/tfl-signs-contract-with-bombardier-transportation-for-new-trainsYou & me both snoggle...

2 bits of info floating around at work but nothing definite as of yet. 1. 9 month complete shut down 2. Gospel Oak to South Tottenham shut then Black Horse Rd to Barking shut.
I did email the canal river trust as I was curious about the last 2 bridges to be replaced between South Tottenham & Black Horse Rd & they replied "Network Rail have undertaken Trial Investigation works to this Bridge and are at present putting together a design package for its Replacement. Their initial Programme of works is looking to close the line down for 6 months, between July 2016 to December 2016."

Sorry should have written 2 years.. Should know better than to add opinions after a night turn. ;-) Still a very tight time scale as a few of the Overground projects are way behind schedule.. ie W.E.F.O.C. & Willesden Tmd..

According to Modern Railways July edition, Rail Minister Claire Perry has said that enabling works are to begin in October and the major works to begin in June 2016 with a completion date along with electric trains running by 30th June 2017. £115 million has been allocated, of which £90 million will come from the SgT and the rest from TfL although no final cost has been estimated yet. I'd like to know what electric trains they are talking about?? Surely it will take longer than a year to build & test the new whatever class Bombardier will build...

There was a recent hint that they might have the S8 layout. Original plan was as the rest of the LOROL fleet. That's what I had read somewhere as well..

Daz, I'm assuming NLL have started stopping at 5 car boards today? There's a lot of "why are the trains missing a carriage?" tweets today haha! Started on Sunday.. 2 week practice getting used to them before they remove/cover the old boards.
