There are definitely LED arrays that will be capable of making a near-perfect match for nearly any colour. Metropolitan Maroon would be one of the more challenging Underground colours to match. LED arrays as used in higher end entertainment fixtures can have up to 7 or 8 different colours of emitters to enable them to make this range of saturated colours without compromising 'tints'. These arrays are fairly expensive and power hungry (i.e 150-200w Max Power) Cheaper RGB LED sources/arrays don't normally light evenly and as observed can tend towards blue. You can get White LED sources which can be warmer or cooler, i.e. to roughly match incandescent, or fluorescent or daylight/HMI light sources (although won't change colour temperature when fading as an incandescent lamp would). So whether one source is 'white' or 'very very very light blue' depends on what your perspective on what white light is...

Guess you're looking for something more specific than 'home base' and 'morrisons'. Is the main somewhere on Bakerloo/WCML near stonebridge park station?

With the 92 units, slightly more than half of the units have driving cabs, gives flexibility as you must have a 'driving' unit at each end but the middle units could be driving or non-driving units. I don't think there's any reason why four driving units could not be operated as a train. However having cabs in the middle of the train does reduce capacity and could have an effect on stopping time as there is one less door in that car... I don't see any reason not to run a four car shuttle train, but coupling/uncoupling or running as four cars through busier sections would probably cause more problems than it's worth...

I think one picture I saw shows a sacrificial girder on this bridge, they certainly are used in other locations. While they do not stop a collision they certainly are a cost effective to mitigate the effect on rail infrastructure and services.

Inset 1: Liverpool Cathedral, from Hope Street Some years ago? Looks very different on Google maps. Au contraire, that's probably in the last year as the building on the left is the recently redeveloped everyman theatre that reopened last year.

I remember when our family moved to the S.E. On our first visit to Woodford we were confused by the lack of level crossing. This was in the late eighties or maybe even nineties. Needless to say we bought a new a to a shortly after...

For D, The 'Temporary Sign' makes me think this is possibly an LO station. We've ruled out Denmark Hill. Don't think it's Cambridge Heath (and I believe not an LO station at this point so OT). There's not many other LO station names containing geographical proper nouns, so I'm a bit stuck. Some other places that might fit that link (but none of which I'm that confident about) are Gloucester Road, Oxford Circus, Edgware Road, Warwick Avenue, Holland Park, Preston Road, Leicester Square. But none of these seem to 'fit' to me...

I definitely couldn't find any way when using a TfL rail machine of buying the cheapest ticket that was offered on the Greater Anglia app (probably Network Super off peak single). And it was too late to buy via the app...
I like mTickets... It's a shame they're only issued for advance fares on GA... If only they could make purchasing instant so you can buy an mTicket on your way to the station and avoid queueing completely..!

Maybe the machine's have been updated since I last attempted to purchase a ticket from them. The previous time was a little while ago and later in the evening so no ticket office and I tried different machines. When collecting lately I suppose I could have gone the other side to use one of the other machines... But generally I get the impression that TfL Rail are less concerned about the bigger NR picture...

I'm having issues with Stratford. None of the machines offer 'Super-off-peak' NR tickets for GA services. To get the cheapest ticket I now need to book on the GA app and 'collect' it from the machine. Last time I did this there was only one NR ticket machine working in the Westfield hall, and it took 10 minutes... Grah...

In a fit of inspiration this morning I have identified the remaining photograph (with assistance from Google) as being of Martello Terrace... But there isn't a station of the same name... ;-)
Anyway the photograph is taken from London Fields station...

Would that be a pattern of things seen from the station of that name? (i.e. the reverse of the main link). Not that it's helping me work out where it is...

My first reaction was definitely Loughton, but on reflection the main canopy there has square corners rather than curved, but the window's definitely right... Hmm.... Unless the curve is from the canopy over the retail units...
