LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

Odd you mention this! I have just asked Metronet if I can post some images here. I have so far not had permission but told them that images will find their way on to this site one way or another, so it would be better if they gave me some images to post which I could describe properly, this will prevent uncontrolled images appearing (along with the misinformation that comes with it!). I am awaiting their response.

I heard the 8 car trains will have a different type of seating (possibley high backed) can anyone confirm or deny this?

Not to my knowledge, the only difference in the seats between 8 and 7 car configurations is the layout. An S8 will have a mixture of longitudinal and transverse, where as the S7 will have all longitudinal.

I have pushed pretty hard this week regarding being able to post images and as a result our LU Comm's person has put the case to MRSSL's press office directly. Whilst there are some issues to overcome I expect that they will eventually allow me to post some images. I will keep applying the pressure until I get the answer I want! Watch this space.
