Whats wrong with drivers? Well the consensus in the media is they cost a lot, strike a lot and are prone to making mistakes.

I don't get why Uxbridge and Watford SB arrive together at HOTH and passengers have to guess which will go first. Previously they'd leave together, one slow, one fast. The old way seemed to make much better use of track space

But when there's disruption, Uxbridge customers have the Piccadilly to fall back on, Watford passengers just have to hope and pray.

So I ask again, what will be happening to the units released when class 377/6 units are introduced onto the suburban trains? There won't be many more services run, as there are no paths to run them. I'm sure I read somewhere the 456s are going to SWT for their train lengthening project

Particularly bad youth attack methinks. I did consider that but really it's just a number of small things - nothing other than the pen marks looked done on purpose, just accumulation of dirt

I've just travelled home on 378233 and noticed pen marked seats, detritus between seats, dirty marks above the doors, a rubber seal hanging down above a window, numerous shoe marks at the inter gangway connection and an extremely dirty floor. Some could've been the result of just a busy day but it looked mostly accumulated over more than a day.

Only recently has it started saying London Overground. Previously it would be something like "the next train to arrive at Platform 5 is the 0946 Highbury & Islington"

The new PIS has now been installed on Platform 1. Standard Network Rail dot matrix orange LED display. Powered on but yet to display departures.

It's not just the bike shed, everything is just far less busy, more like a saturday. For example, on the train I get to work, around 30 people get on at pinner usually, today only 8 got on. Since more trains serve Pinner in the off-peak timetable than the peak that's hardly a surprise

The only thing that slightly concerns me is the phrase "sufficiently compatible". Does that mean they'll be able to work in multiple with current 377s or does it just mean the components are similar for maintenance purposes? The Railnews website mentions it's because they'll have the body of a 379 rather than a 375/377 however electrically they'll be compatible with the 377s.

Was platform 9 bi-di in those days? If not then it is coming towards the camera. Looks like a big head sticking out of the rear cab too.
Certainly an unusual photo!

Roughly 1410. The Announcer said the 1427 to Watford and another one were cancelled. I believe shortly before this, there was an incident in the Marlborough Road disused station area that required the LFB to access the track and for traction current to be discharged. This resulted in a handful of trains being reversed via Neasden Depot Fair enough, these things happen. It does highlight though with the reduced service how one cancellation to Watford leads to up to 30 mins of waiting.

Something went belly up this afternoon at Finchley Road. Complete dearth of trains. Eventually the announcer said an Amersham stopper was coming ( there'd been a roughly 10 minute gap) and everyone should take it and change at Wembley Pk. 11 minute wait at Wembley and then a train arrived obviously from London as it was well crowded. These cancellations and gaps make for cold waiting on platforms.

Well we're 1week in, how's it been? I know there's passionate comment about slowing down but what about service reliability? Has it proven to be a game changer at keeping trains on time? I'm quite interested here as I lived on the SWT network when the slower timetable came in there. Yes we waited a while at each station but generally the trains did run to time.

Hey guys I think individual finger pointing is wrong. You're forgetting this forum is free and we should appreciate Lu staffers informing us of decision making and reasoning we'd never normally see and let's face it, would've happened anyway.

Sorry but after travelling on the Met today, this timetable is a joke Well I've been a harsh critic however it's unfair to judge it purely on the first day with a few leaves still around.

How come if I look at Moor Park departure boards online right now it shows trains at Platform 1 & 3 northbound? I thought all off-peaks are now slows?

Ugh, so they got a private train on one of the most horribly crowded lines because they're not happy about the political situation in their country? There's also something called protesting at the embassy, instead of annoying people who have nothing to do with it. Like Congo cares about a busy London station getting shut down... It got them on the news didn't it? That's the point.

Running issues aside, surely a model like this though was beneficial for the passenger, as it made more of the fast lines infrastructure, shared the pros and cons of through service throughout everyone on the line, and, equally, shared the disruption risk to everyone aswell. But doing that now would take it away from the TfL stop everywhere, make it simple, sytle they so seem to be in love with. As I said previously, why not just plain line the Harrow North Junction and be done with it. Then the map creators wouldn't have these problematic fast lines to deal with.

Went through the southbound platfrom on the Northern line yesterday. The metal barriers are now gone. The walls have been stripped bare, with the horrid 1980s tiling and signage gone (hooray!) - presumably a more modern finish will be applied in due course. For better or worse, the Paolozzi murals are still in situ. Re-opening now announced www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/21643.aspx
